SUMMARY
To begin this interview I would like to ask you how did Myriam Gauthier become a Clown character?
M: I was a very, very shy 15 year old girl and at that age I had a passion for theater, I read a lot about it and one day I signed up for a workshop, but because I was so shy it took me 6 months until I went on stage
, after this time, the teacher told me “come on, it’s time, you have to go! I was super stressed, even though it was an exercise to accentuate an action that was eating…something very simple. From that moment, I have the image of not feeling shy for the first time.
When I emphasized the action of eating, people laughed and this was an important point for me: hearing the laughter of the audience was a phenomenal door to feel that everything I could not do in life, I could achieve! and that the difficulties could be strengths on stage, I understood that for the first time that day. At
from that moment, I never left the theater and that was also a moment of clown, because with laughter there was already something of clown.
