SUMMARY

I am John Jairo Chaverra Murillo. I live in Vigía del Fuerte Antioquia. I am a teacher at the Embera Atrato medio rural indigenous educational institution. I am about to celebrate 14 years of accompanying the Embera Dobida, Embera Eyabida and Sanjuaneño indigenous communities in the municipalities of Murindó, Vigia del Fuerte and Bojayá-Chocó. In the community I work as a cultural manager. I accompany a theater group called Imágenes. We started back in 2003 as a result of a process managed by the diocese of
Quibdó, where we were trained as theater multipliers.
Since then we have been carrying out this task of continuing to multiply the theatrical part in the territory. Here in the town of Vigía del Fuerte, which is where I live, in this task, I have met many people, many places that the theater has allowed me to get to know. Also, as we know many people, people have arrived who have been interested in helping to continue strengthening the theatrical life in Atrato. That is how we met Natalia Quiceno and through her, we met Ana María Vallejo.
