SUMMARY

The LGBTIQ+ migrant population is often faced with situations of harassment, violence
(physical, verbal, sexual, psychological) and discrimination. In many cases, both in places of origin, transit and destination, there are also shortcomings in the attainment of rights such as: identity, work, health, education or the use of public space. Although it is a problem that is evident globally, the number of migrants who have entered Colombia in recent years as a result of the Venezuelan humanitarian crisis, makes it necessary to focus on the situation of the LGBTIQ+ migrant population
found in this area. The intersection between migration, sexual orientations, gender identities and diverse gender expressions endow this issue with particular dimensions that make the experiences of the LGBTIQ+ migrant population even more complex.
